So Proud of my Little Boy

Since August I have been working with this little 2nd grade boy that acts like a 3 year old most of the time. It was a big deal today when he danced with the whole class during 2 songs! It was a big deal because we had to work up to that since August so he finally did it. He danced to the months of the year song and a counting to 100 song that was Christmasy with Santa dancing. He also wouldn't listen to me so I went on my break. When I was walking away for break, I heard him starting to cry. That's a 1st for him too. He never cried if I just walked out the door. He was also spitting at me so that is another reason I left. We are making progress one day/month at time. His mother just had a baby boy last week so this might be reacting to that too this way.

My Short Story of Living for Jesus, Not for Man

Look at the 3 invest principles

-People over positions
-Serving over being served
-Self sacrifice over selfishness

Then read my short story below:

Look into SMSU because big brother went-big university in state and family

Mom mentioned CofO and started to look into that-small college back then

Not smart enough for SMSU but made it into the small college of CofO

Start Elementary degree

Not math genius

Start Child development degree

Childcare field first
       -Helen Walton Center
       -Little Sunshine School

Then after school care in one city

Again childcare field
          -Posh Tots
          -Northwest Arkansas Headstart

Then public school one on one in another city

Taking more college classes for kids with disabilities-NWACC

CofO is national known now and people love people from there as workers

Do you see those 3 principals in my story?

Love

“I LOVE PEOPLE”
Series: “Living the Abundant Life” - Message 3
Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor
Mark 12:31-34
31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There
is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 And the scribe
said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one,
and there is no other besides him. 33 And to love him with all the
heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to
love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt
offerings and sacrifices.” 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered
wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And
after that no one dared to ask him any more questions.

BIG ROCK #1: Knowing God
BIG ROCK #2: Loving people

Two realities in loving people
1) Love happens in messy relationships. Embrace the mess.
2) Love happens in meaningful actions. Roll up your sleeves.

KNOWING GOD gives you SUBSTANCE.
LOVING PEOPLE give you SIGNFICANCE.

Embrace the mess.

Jesus Embraced our mess and loved us. We need to do that for others. Love others in their mess.

Love happens in the mess.

You don't feel you way into action, you act your way into the feeling.

Seaside Villa

For now I have the fullest life because I can show your love in the best ways and it is where I want to be right now. My dream job for now as a Paraprofessional. 1 on 1 with a speical child. I was making mudpies at Headstart because of the money I was getting there but now I am living in a seaside villa compare to that. It's not just about money. It's about loving people and the job. You always had something better for me. I just needed to listen to the people around me and I finally did. You were using them in my life. I have an abundant life now because I have substance and a significance to be in this job.

Abundant Life gives:

substance – Knowing God gives us a substantive life.

significance - Loving People and Living Sent give us significance.

-When God provides for us

-When God blesses us
          -Genesis 22:16-19
          -Eph. 1:3-11

-This story is here because God was trying to tell us that He is giving us His Son Jesus. God's hand wasn't stopped.

MESSAGE NOTES: “An Everyday Prayer for an Everyday Person”

Series, “Psalms in the Summer,” Message 7
Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor

Scripture: Psalm 139:1-2, 23-24 (English Standard Version)

1
O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
2
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
23
Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

God answers EVERY prayer:
If my request is wrong - God says No
If my timing is wrong - God says Slow
If my character is wrong - God says Grow
When my request, timing, and character are all right - God says Go!

Prayer is less a means of getting our will into heaven.
Prayer is utilized best by getting God's Will in us.

Two prayers every person should pray:

1) Search me.

Open self-Info about you and other know about you

Hidden self-Info that you know about yourself and others don't.

Blind self-info that you don't know but other people know.

Unknown self-info that you or nobody else knows about yourself

Take an inventory of heart, Mind, and hands.

HEART:
Psalm 139:23
Proverbs 20:5
Jer. 17:9

MIND:

Coming Clean”
Series, “Psalms in the Summer,” Message 4
Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor

Scripture: Psalm 32 (English Standard Version)

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
2
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

3
For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
4
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

5
I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

6
Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him.
7
You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah

8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
9
Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.

10
Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
11
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Blessed life=clean

Psalm 42

Three Hebrew words for sin:

1) Trangression - Lead a revolt or rebellion against authority; a severing of relationship

2) Sin - “coming short” or “falling short” (similar to Greek hamartia).

3) Iniquity - Arabic origin: to bend, twist, or make crooked

Confessions: chapters 6, 32, 38, 102, 130, 143

Own your junk or your junk will own you.

Two options when dealing with sin

1) Concealing – sickens you

2) Confession - frees you

Confess:
Worries
Doubts
Fears
Lying

Physical toll:
Psalm 51:3-Eyes
Psalm 51:6-Mind
Psalm 51:8-Bones

Spiritual toll:
Heart-Psalm 51:10
Joy-Psalm 51:8
Spirit

Proverbs 28:13
Romans 4:7
Psalm 32:5
Psalm 103:12
1 John 1:9

How to live a confessional life:

  • Agree with God about the course of your life
  • Come broken to this reality
  • include yourself in a godly accountability relationship
  • Leave resolved not to return

James 5:16

There's nothing that God won't forgive.

God, Touch Her Heart!- A Poem

God, hear my prayer.
Please reach down and touch her heart.
Let her feel your presence with her.

God, hear my prayer.
Please reach down and touch her heart.
Make it go back to its regular beats and
stay there. She wants tp be home with her
pets and plants.

God, hear my prayer.
Please give her hope by touching her heat.
Hope that it will last a long time. Healing
where she doesn't get short winded taking
just 10 steps to the kitchen.

God, hear my Prayer.
Please give her her strength back when
you touch her heart so she can do things.
Things like gardening, scrapbooking, and
all of her other hobbies.

God, hear my prayer.
Please reach down and touch her heart.
Apparently, this is something only you know
how to do. If it is not, then give the doctors
wisdom so they know what they are doing.
However, you want to Heal her just please
do it for the doggies' sake.

Women of Faith

Deuteronomy 7:1-2

Deuteronomy 20:16-17

Rehab
7 lesson of God's salvation

1. God saves imperfect people for his prefect plan.

2. God judges and punishes sin.
            -justice=judgment
-God was not and is not genaotial.
-God is a God of Mercy. Gave them time and let them hear other events but they didn't come to repentance. Cannites.
-God's story of redemption is unfolding.
-We are still people at war. Spiritual warfare.
-God chose to punish one person for all nations. Not punish all the nation like in Old Testament.

3. God punishes sin but He saves sinners.
              -saved by faith and grace

My Prayer of Hope

             Dear Daddy,
As I am sitting here looking at hope in my life, I just want to thank you for Hope. It was You clothed as Hope to get me through the changes of my life. You made me a girl that doesn't like changes so I could see the Hope in You. Don't know what you have planned for the future but apparently it has needing Hope in it. Why would I be learning about Hope my 1st year of marriage? With You, though, I can handle it!

                   In Jesus' name, Amen

Hope in April

Hope can mean so many things. We usually want something when we say it but it means so much more. We have Hope in Jesus. We can look at Him at anytime. Hope is good and bad. In the darkness and in the light. No better time to see that then at Easter and through my dad. There was no mistake that my dad was born in the month of Easter. The month of Hope. The way I look at it. He needed all the hope he could get in his lifetime. From raising 4, no wait, 6 kids to all the cancers he had. He needed something to hold on to. Never thought about it but hope is probably what gave him the strength for everything. He kept having more that he hoped to see with his 6 kids. Hope that he had enough strength to see evry one of his children grow up. Hope to make it through his drs. Degree with 4 children during the summers because he knew he needed to do it for them. Hope that he would be the 1st to graduate from college in his family even with dylixa. A heard time reading. Hope he would get through every cancer and sickness. Hope he knew when it was time to meet Jesus. Hope when he had to get another job and move epically before us to finish building a building. Hope to get a child through her math classes. Hope to see his children get married. He kept going for as long as he could. Hope in the darkness and in the light. I want to live my life that way for my dad because if HOPE got him through life what can it do for me. God knew what He was doing when my dad was born in April. He had it all under control.

That your confidence in Jesus will grow stronger. That your love will grow deeper.

-Jesus isn't an influencer but He is my identity.

-Jesus isn't a disruptor but He is a Completer.

What you believe about Jesus is the most important and impactful decision you will ever make.

A Battle Plan for the Weary

A Battle Plan for the Weary

by Meredith Houston Carr

FEBRUARY 6, 2023

“For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12b-c (ESV)
d2.6-23

As my husband drove us home from marriage counseling, I sat quietly and ruminated on the list of books and exercises we’d been recommended. Exhaling deeply, I tried to rid myself of a nagging thought: I am just too tired to do this anymore.

Month after month, we’d done what “good Christian couples” were supposed to do: seek counseling, have date nights, express feelings in a calm manner, etc. But it wasn’t enough, and we found ourselves wrangling the same issues over and over.

Exhaustion set in, and I simply didn’t know how to keep fighting — or if I even could.

I wonder if you’re also fighting a seemingly endless battle that’s leaving you empty. Maybe it’s a prodigal child or a dead-end job or a difficult diagnosis. Or maybe you, too, are fighting for your marriage, but a tidal wave of fear drowns out any sense of progress.

You’ve done everything you know to do, but the battle rages on — and you’ve got no more fight left in you.

Thankfully, the Bible is full of stories where God showed up and showed off in the midst of His children’s battles. Today’s scripture comes from 2 Chronicles 20, which details the story of the Israelite King Jehoshaphat and the dire situation he faced. After being fiercely pursued by relentless enemies, God’s people were exhausted and confused.

However, instead of planning a typical military approach, Jehoshaphat called an assembly and led the people through a different “battle plan” of sorts — a three-step process that we, too, can implement:

1. Seek the Lord through honest, vulnerable prayer. Though perhaps, as king, he “should” have had all the answers, today’s key verse details how Jehoshaphat readily admitted his weakness:

“For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” (2 Chronicles 20:12b-c).

Don’t you love this relatable prayer? It’s one we can pray over our trials too. When weariness and confusion surround us, let’s keep our knees down in prayer and our eyes up to heaven.

2. Worship through the fear and doubt. Jehoshaphat and “all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD, worshiping the LORD” (2 Chronicles 20:18, ESV). In the face of fear and fierce enemies, they chose to sing songs of worship and praise anyway. Praising God in the presence of the enemy is an act of faith that pleases the Holy Spirit, who fights for us and with us in our battles!

3. Trust God’s direction; then move forward in faith. God answered Jehoshaphat’s powerful petition with clear direction: “Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the LORD will be with you” (2 Chronicles 20:17, ESV). The people faithfully obeyed, and as promised, God showed up and miraculously delivered the enemy into their hands!

However God chooses to work specifically in our battles, we can trust that His heart is always good toward us. It’s been years since my husband and I battled for our marriage, and I can confidently say there was never a day God failed to provide what we needed to keep fighting.

Dear one, whatever battles you’re facing, God will meet you on the battlefield. And He’s full of the strength you lack. Today, may we pray, worship and trust — and fight the good fight another day.

Dear Jesus, thank You for providing strength when we’re weary. Please meet us on the battlefield and lead us through to the other side. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
