THREE PARTS OF COMPASSION
Time to wake up!
Wake up to love!
Romans 13:9-13
"Love your neighbor."
Repeated 8 times in Bible.
Jesus quotes this command 4 times im the gospels.
"Your neighbor is anyone in your way on your way."
Compassion is:
-outward focused. Less about you and more about others.
-Takes action. A strong emotion that elicits a physical response.
1) See as Jesus sees
Matthew 9:36
-He saw the crowds.
-He saw valuable people in those crowds.
-Deepen our vision.
-Broaden out vision.
2) Feel as Jesus feels
Matthew 9:39
I can be a part of the injustice.
3) Respond as Jesus responds
How am I part of the solution?
-Pary earnestly.
"You can do more than pray, but you can't do more until you pray."

1) What does it mean when the Bible tells Christ followers that they need to wake up? (read Romans 13:11, John 4:35)
2) Can you recall a time when you were a Christ follower but you were asleep spiritually, lacking passion for the things and heart of God?
3) In your own words, how is compassion different than most other emotions we might feel? (i.e. compassion is an externally focused emotion that leads to action)
4) Share a time when you experienced compassion in your life from someone or on a spiritual level from the Lord.
5) Why is seeing, feeling, and responding the trifecta of compassion? Are each important? Does the order matter?
6) Proper response begins with PRAYER. Take a moment and read John 4:35 and then pray for your ONE. We have had over 217 names submitted for people IDENTIFYING, INVESTING, and INVITING. Pray collectively as a group for these ONES.
