Old Ruins and Cornerstones-A Poem

Old Ruins and Cornerstones

What do we see when you look at
old ruins? Do you see something
that just gave up or that kept trying?
Something that keeps getting covered
and uncovered time and time again?
Ruins that people dismantle and write
on because they think they mean
nothing anymore?

Old ruins could also mean more to
another person. They could bring
back good, old memories. They
could teach others about the past.
They could be really strong since
they are still standing. They could
be surrounded by beautiful
surroundings that make them even
more special then usual.

With humans, the ruins are our past
and our pain. They might not be
beautiful within themselves but God
uses them to turn us beautiful. They
might be time old memories but we
know we are strong now because of
them. They might be covered up but
when we need to remember them
for a reason God always uncovers
them.

Some ruins might even be left at the
bottom for good. The pain we endure
is nothing that God can't handle. People
writing on our hearts things for us to believe.
People not knowing why we stand for
what we believe. People not knowing the
real pain we are hiding inside.

No matter what people say about us,
we always stand strong. We have
a Cornerstone that we can lead on in the
painful and hard times. Old ruins that are
objects are just left there out in the middle
of nowhere. Humans that have old ruins
inside them well that is where God comes
and tears them down. He wants to place a
new building where the old building once
stood.
