Coming Clean”
Series, “Psalms in the Summer,” Message 4
Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor

Scripture: Psalm 32 (English Standard Version)

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
2
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

3
For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
4
For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

5
I acknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah

6
Therefore let everyone who is godly
offer prayer to you at a time when you may be found;
surely in the rush of great waters,
they shall not reach him.
7
You are a hiding place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah

8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
9
Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding,
which must be curbed with bit and bridle,
or it will not stay near you.

10
Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord.
11
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous,
and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Blessed life=clean

Psalm 42

Three Hebrew words for sin:

1) Trangression - Lead a revolt or rebellion against authority; a severing of relationship

2) Sin - “coming short” or “falling short” (similar to Greek hamartia).

3) Iniquity - Arabic origin: to bend, twist, or make crooked

Confessions: chapters 6, 32, 38, 102, 130, 143

Own your junk or your junk will own you.

Two options when dealing with sin

1) Concealing – sickens you

2) Confession - frees you

Worries
Doubts
Fears
Lying

  • Come broken to this reality
  • include yourself in a godly accountability relationship
  • Leave resolved not to return

God, Touch Her Heart!- A Poem

God, hear my prayer.
Please reach down and touch her heart.
Let her feel your presence with her.

God, hear my prayer.
Please reach down and touch her heart.
Make it go back to its regular beats and
stay there.She wants tp be home with her
pets and plants.

God, hear my prayer.
Please give her hope by touching her heat.
Hope that it will last a long time. Healing
where she doesn't get short winded taking
just 10 steps to the kitchen.

God, hear my Prayer.
Please give her her strength back when
you touch her heart so she can do things.
Things like gardening, scrapbooking, and
all of her other hobbies.

God, hear my prayer.
Please reach down and touch her heart.
Apparently, this is something only you know
how to do. If it is not, then give the doctors
 wisdom so they know what they are doing.
However, you want to Heal her just please
do it for the doggies' sake.

Women of Faith

Deuteronomy 7:1-2

Deuteronomy 20:16-17

Rehab
7 lesson of God's salvation

1. God saves imperfect people for his prefect plan.

2. God judges and punishes sin.
            -justice=judgment
      -God was not and is not genaotial.
      -God is a God of Mercy. Gave them time and let them hear other events but they didn't come to repentance. Cannites.
        -God's story of redemption is unfolding.
        -We are still people at war. Spiritual warfare.
        -God chose to punish one person for all nations. Not punish all the nation like in Old Testament.

3. God punishes sin but He saves sinners.
              -saved by faith and grace

My Prayer of Hope

             Dear Daddy,
                     As I am sitting here looking at hope in my life, I just want to thank you for Hope. It was You clothed as Hope to get me through the changes of my life. You made me a girl that doesn't like changes so I could see the Hope in You. Don't know what you have planned for the future but apparently it has needing Hope in it. Why would I be learning about Hope my 1st year of marriage? With You, though, I can handle it!

                   In Jesus' name, Amen

Hope in April

       Hope can mean so many things. We usually want something when we say it but it means so much more. We have Hope in Jesus. We can look at Him at anytime. Hope is good and bad. In the darkness and in the light. No better time to see that then at Easter and through my dad. There was no mistake that my dad was born in the month of Easter. The month of Hope. The way I look at it. He needed all the hope he could get in his lifetime. From raising 4, no wait, 6 kids to all the cancers he had. He needed something to hold on to. Never thought about it but hope is probably what gave him the strength for everything. He kept having more that he hoped to see with his 6 kids. Hope that he had enough strength to see evry one of his children grow up. Hope to make it through his drs. Degree with 4 children during the summers because he knew he needed to do it for them. Hope that he would be the 1st to graduate from college in his family even with dylixa. A heard time reading. Hope he would get through every cancer and sickness. Hope he knew when it was time to meet Jesus. Hope when he had to get another job and move epically before us to finish building a building. Hope to get a child through her math classes. Hope to see his children get married. He kept going for as long as he could. Hope in the darkness and in the light. I want to live my life that way for my dad because if HOPE got him through life what can it do for me. God knew what He was doing when my dad was born in April. He had it all under control.

The Last 24 Hours

That your confidence in Jesus will grow stronger. That your love will grow deeper.

-Jesus isn't an influencer but He is my identity.

-Jesus isn't a disruptor but He is a Completer.

-Pilate saw Jesus as a question to be avoided. Jesus is the defining answer.

What you believe about Jesus is the most important and impactful decision you will ever make.

What will you do with Jesus who is Christ tommrow?- Ask everyday

We want Jesus to be our rescuer but He came to be our Savior.

When God is working, lean in.
