As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. Summer 2024

Summer 2024 is my 1st summer that I've had off since college. It will be a very different one for me because I am catching up on all the things I've missed by not having summers off. Here is what happened during the summer:          -Amber fell at her school hurting her leg. Can't walk on it most of the time. Started her PT.         -Tornado in NWA         - Mom got bite by a copperhead.         -had gallbladder surgery.         -Wes and family came to visit.         -went on a summer vacation to Hot Springs.  Here is what I did:         -Took time to sort through my clothes         -cleaned of the couch         -helped clean up after And school ended early because of the tornado.         -cleaned out my bedroom (sort of)     ...

Rooted in Christ

Ephesians 1:1-14 These are spiritual blessings from God: I'm chosen I'm made blameless.  I'm adopted. I'm redeemed (saved) from the darkness, the laws, and sins. I'm forgiven.  I'm at peace with God and others. I'm sealed with the Love of God. WHY? Am I sealed with the Love of God: Ephesians, Chapter 1: It’s according to his love. (1:4) Because he is rich in grace. (1:7) It’s his his eternal purpose. (1:5, 8, 11) So that his glory will be praised. (1:14) Chapter 2 He is Rich in Mercy (2:4) Because of his great love (2:4) Because of immeasurable grace and kindness (2:5) It’s a gift (2:8) So that we would walk in good works (2:10)

Which Road Will You Take?

MESSAGE NOTES: “Which Road Will you Take?” Series, “Good to Great” Message 10 Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor Matthew 7:13-14 (ESV)** 13) “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14) For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.” Two kinds of treasures Two kinds of masters Two ways Two teachers Two foundation Jesus likes the number 2 in the sermon on the Mount. Two ways. Two outcomes Two gates Two roads Two crowds Two places Verses 13-14 When you come to a fork in the road. Take it.-Yogi Bear Two paths to ponder 1) Popular counterfeit path Those who enter by it are many. What is the popular way? • It’s compromising • It’s enticing 2) Radical Jesus road • It’s a sacrificial road. • It’s a courageous road. A life in Christ brings salvation. A life in Christ brings freedom. A life in Christ brings provision.

5 Ps for Praying

Image
“SMART Prayer” Series, “Good to Great,” Message 6 Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor Matthew 6:5-15 (English Standard Version) 5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. 7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us fr...

Salt and Light

Worship Guide, January 21, 2024 Part of GPC Worship Guides January 19, 2024 GRACE POINT CHURCH of NORTHWEST ARKANSAS WORSHIP GUIDE: January 21, 2024 MESSAGE NOTES: “A New You: SALT & LIGHT” Series, “Good to Great,” Message 3” Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor Matthew 5:13-16 13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Oh how wonderful, oh how marvelous-the song I need when I need encouragement Short definition of greatness: Greatness is an inside work that is seen and experienced on the outside. More on Simplify

How to Simplify Your Life This Year Amber    January 05, 2024 You might say it every year, or this may be the first year you’ve realized things are getting out of hand. A busy schedule and cluttered life are getting in the way, and it’s time to do something about it. If you’re feeling weighed down, dump some of your stress. This year, make it your goal to scale back. Replace your hectic agenda and worries with simplicity. But how do you even begin? Simplicity Is Stepping Back When things start to pile up and you’re feeling stressed, what do you do? Do you work all hours of the night to catch up, frosting 50 cupcakes for the school bake sale while also writing thank you notes for the gifts you got last month? Getting things off your list can feel good in the end—but if you’re working so hard to get it done, is that little check mark worth it? If your mind is on a dozen other things, how can you truly devote time to living His Word? We must focus on the things that matter, rathe...

Crowds are good. Disciples are GREAT! BE ATTITUDE STRUCTURE: Blessing > Attitude > Promise Blessings is at the start of the Beatitudes. Attitude is the...

The Word "Simplify"

I got this from the DaySpring website when I took one of their quizzes: Your word of the year is simplify! But what does that mean for your 2024 and beyond? Keep reading to hear just what the Bible says about simplifying and slowing down in your life daily and more. In a world that often seems to move at an unrelenting pace, the call to simplify and slow down is a counter-cultural and profoundly spiritual invitation. As believers in God, the wisdom found in Scripture provides a guiding light for those seeking a more intentional and peaceful way of living in 2024. Let's explore what it means to embrace simplicity and a slower pace, anchored in the timeless truths of the Bible. Embracing God's Rest: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28, NIV) In a culture of constant busyness, God invites us to find rest in Him. Simplifying our lives and slowing down allows us to respond to this divine invitation, acknowl...
