"Think on Him and Thank Him."= Peace
-Luke 2:9-11, 13-14
9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
-Step 1
-They were scared.
-We can be scared about the things that are happening in our lives but really we don't need to be. We know that God knows what is beast for us so we just need to trust Him. It can be scary not being able to see down the road or path He has us on and that can give us so much anxiety. That is when we start thinking about the great things He has done for us in the past and will do in the future. What better way too to get close to Him but praying about those things that make us anxious and scared and then seeing how they turn out.
-Step 2
-a Savior has been born to you.
-Take this as an example the Savior was born to change the whole world. Don't you think a lot of people were scared especially when the angels showed up because that was something new to them. The people also thought that this so called Savior might do things a little different then what was going on at the present time. I mean they already went through so many changes like moving back to their hometown and seeing a big star in the sky and seeing a baby born in a manger. If you were told a leader was coming and did come like that, what would be your first thoughts? Things are already changing, are they going to keep coming with that new leader or be the same with the leader? Everything was the same with Jesus that they had no idea who He was.
-Step 3
-peace to those
-Until peace came over those who believe Jesus was God's Son and then yes, everything changed but for the good. How can you be scared of that instead of thankful? Being given lasting peace for all of life present and future. I know in today's world that I would give up anything to know that I could have that kind of peace if it was possible for my life but I am a sinner so it is hard and something I have to work for everyday of my life.

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
-Think-verse 8-1st command
-Think of the things that are good, true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, or praiseworthy. When you think about those things, then they will replace the bad thoughts in your head. It will take work but it is worth it when you get into the habit. How can you get anxieties with thinking about good things? When we think about those things, the peace of God will be with you. You will feel a peace that falls on you like a quite surrounding.
-"Anxiety comes not from thinking too much but from thinking too little......about true and right things."
-Thank-2nd command
-How can you not be thankful when you are at peace and can see everything around you so clearly? How can you not thank God when you think of good and lovely things that He has provided you with? It makes is so hard not to be at peace when you thank Him. When I remember what He has done for me, it is all about thanking Him and I am truly at peace. We just need to remember to do that more often then we do. We take it for credit a lot of times by not doing it because we don't notice the small changes it makes in our lives.
-"Peace of God comes from the God of peace."
-"Thinking on and thanking Him for who He is and what He has done."
First time I've heard a pastor preach on true anxiety. Right at the time that I'm thinking about lowering and stopping my meds. Praying to be healed from all of this. It can be done! I still believe in miracles. I can't and don't want to be on meds. all my life. Tonight I have decided that. It might mess up my life for a little bit but it is but to be by myself then with peopled and children, especially my own. Something I don't want my future husband to have to go through.
-The grace of God beings the peace of God.
-Peace comes from His Presence.
