How to Simplify Your Life This Year Amber    January 05, 2024 You might say it every year, or this may be the first year you’ve realized things are getting out of hand. A busy schedule and cluttered life are getting in the way, and it’s time to do something about it. If you’re feeling weighed down, dump some of your stress. This year, make it your goal to scale back. Replace your hectic agenda and worries with simplicity. But how do you even begin? Simplicity Is Stepping Back When things start to pile up and you’re feeling stressed, what do you do? Do you work all hours of the night to catch up, frosting 50 cupcakes for the school bake sale while also writing thank you notes for the gifts you got last month? Getting things off your list can feel good in the end—but if you’re working so hard to get it done, is that little check mark worth it? If your mind is on a dozen other things, how can you truly devote time to living His Word? We must focus on the things that matter, rathe...

The Word "Simplify"

I got this from the DaySpring website when I took one of their quizzes: Your word of the year is simplify! But what does that mean for your 2024 and beyond? Keep reading to hear just what the Bible says about simplifying and slowing down in your life daily and more. In a world that often seems to move at an unrelenting pace, the call to simplify and slow down is a counter-cultural and profoundly spiritual invitation. As believers in God, the wisdom found in Scripture provides a guiding light for those seeking a more intentional and peaceful way of living in 2024. Let's explore what it means to embrace simplicity and a slower pace, anchored in the timeless truths of the Bible. Embracing God's Rest: Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28, NIV) In a culture of constant busyness, God invites us to find rest in Him. Simplifying our lives and slowing down allows us to respond to this divine invitation, acknowl...

So Proud of my Little Boy

Since August I have been working with this little 2nd grade boy that acts like a 3 year old most of the time. It was a big deal today when he danced with the whole class during 2 songs! It was a big deal because we had to work up to that since August so he finally did it. He danced to the months of the year song and a counting to 100 song that was Christmasy with Santa dancing. He also wouldn't listen to me so I went on my break. When I was walking away for break, I heard him starting to cry. That's a 1st for him too. He never cried if I just walked out the door. He was also spitting at me so that is another reason I left. We are making progress one day/month at time. His mother just had a baby boy last week so this might be reacting to that too this way.

My Short Story of Living for Jesus, Not for Man

Look at the 3 invest principles  -People over positions  -Serving over being served  -Self sacrifice over selfishness  Then read my short story below: Look into SMSU because big brother went-big university in state and family Mom mentioned CofO and started to look into that-small college back then Not smart enough for SMSU but made it into the small college of CofO Start Elementary degree Not math genius  Start Child development degree Childcare field first        -Helen Walton Center        -Little Sunshine School Then after school care in one city Again childcare field           -Posh Tots           -Northwest Arkansas Headstart  Then public school one on one in another city Taking more college classes for kids with disabilities-NWACC CofO is national known now and people love people from there as workers Do you see those 3 principals in my story?

Love

“I LOVE PEOPLE” Series: “Living the Abundant Life” - Message 3 Mike McDaniel, Lead Pastor Mark 12:31-34 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 And the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. 33 And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions. BIG ROCK #1: Knowing God BIG ROCK #2: Loving people Two realities in loving people 1) Love happens in messy relationships. Embrace the mess. 2) Love happens in meaningful actions. Roll up your sleeves. KNOWING GOD gives you SUBSTANCE. LOVING PEOPLE give you SIGNFICANCE. ...
